Stepping Stone

AKA “Sex Worker Drop-in” or “Sex Worker Outreach” or “Stroll Outreach”

Stepping Stone is the only organization in the Maritimes that deals specifically with street life and sex work from a harm reduction model. Our support is crucial to the wellbeing of hundreds of female, male and transgendered sex workers. It is important to know that people work on the street, but also out of their homes. Our trained staff provide advocacy through a variety of ways such as court support, housing support (to locate and maintain stable and adequate housing), building community relations, and through harm reduction.

Stepping Stone

STROLL OUTREACH

Street-level outreach provides snacks and sandwiches, harm reduction and occupational safety materials in the evening and in the areas where people are working. Outreach routes change to reflect the changes on the street level. Please call Stepping Stone to connect to outreach services.

ONSITE RESOURCES

Please call for more information about the availability and schedule of onsite resources

Bad Date List:  This is a resource for sex workers that documents ‘bad dates’ as
a warning to other workers. If someone presents with injuries and identifies that they were assaulted during a date, encourage them to report this to Stepping Stone. It helps keep other sex workers safe.
