NECHA mourns passing of long-time colleague, Patti Melanson
The North End Community Health Association is sad to share with you the news that our dear friend, loyal colleague and dedicated advocate, Patti Melanson, passed away on Saturday in the arms of her husband and two daughters.
Patti always put vulnerable persons first. She felt that people shouldn’t have to fit into how we deliver care or the systems we use. Rather, it is our job as providers to figure out how to meet their needs and offer care wherever they are, however they need it.
Patti agitated for change in the system, not satisfied to advocate within its constraints. She saw each person and authentically cared for them with kindness and respect.
We will miss her greatly.
To help continue Patti’s work and legacy, the family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MOSH through the North End Community Health Association.
